Hunters Feed

Rice Lake's 6th Annual Hunters Feed is scheduled for Thursday, November 18th. It will be held at the Chamber of Commerce (37 S. Main Street) from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Stop by to enjoy Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Baked Beans, Chips and a Beverage and help us kick off the deer hunting season!

Our raffle this year has some really great prizes including: Browning X-Bolt .300 WSM Rifle, a Remington 700 CDL .270 Rifle, a Thompson Center Triumph .50 Cal Muzzle Loader and lots of other fantastic items. Tickets are $5 each or 3/$10 or 7/$20. They will be available at Dairy State Bank, Johnson Bank, Liquor Depot, and at the Rice Lake Chamber office.

Funds raised this year will go toward new Christmas Street Decorations for the city, hunter safety courses, youth scholarships and the Chamber's Community Fund.

U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors Concert

The Rice Lake Chamber of Commerce is proud to host a concert by the United States Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors. The concert is free to the public, however tickets must be sent for or picked up at the Chamber office.
Concert will take place at the Rice Lake High School Auditorium (30 S. Wisconsin Ave.)
Time: 2 p.m.
Cost: Free with tickets

Marketing - Make Your Business More Successful

What do you need to know to make your business more successful in today's world? The Rice Lake Chamber's Retail Committee is sponsoring this seminar along with the Eau Claire Chapter of SCORE.

Representatives from SCORE will form a 3 person panel and present information on marketing in general, use of media, and non-traditional marketing. There will be time for questions and answers following each presentation.

Plan to attend on Monday, March 15, 2010
1-3 p.m. at the Microtel Motel (2771 Decker Drive, Rice Lake WI)
Cost is $25 per person ($20 each for additional people in same group/business)

The Government as a Customer Seminar

A small-business seminar "The Government as a Customer" will be held on Thursday, April 15th. It is being co-sponsored by Rice Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and WITC-Rice Lake.

The seminar is set up to inform businesses in our area how to get government contracts. Find out how your business can realize greater profits and business opportunities by marketing and selling goods and services to many government agencies and departments.

At this seminar, Aina Vilumsons, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Procurement Institute (WPI) will provide the necessary information to:
*Determine if your business is ready and capable of selling to the government
*Do the necessary market research to determine what the opportunities are
*Develop a market strategy
*Selling and marketing

Vilumsons mission has been to bring more Federal procurement dollars to the State of Wisconsin and strengthen the Government Procurement Supply Chain. Under her leadership, during FY2009, WPI has been credited with assisting in bringing $850 million in Federal Prime awards and $110 million in Federal subcontracts.

There will be 2 sessions to choose from: 8-11 a.m. or 1-4 p.m.
Cost is $25 for non-members (Chamber members), or free for Chamber members.
Registration deadline is Monday, April 12th.

Snowmobiling in Barron County

The Barron County Snowmobile Trails opened last week. They will be hard and icy.

We hope that you enjoy your time in Barron County's restaurants, motels, and retail shops.
